[ROYAL COPENHAGEN] Royal Copenhagen is renowned for its deep ties to the royal family, spanning two centuries since its founding. Royal Copenhagen became known worldwide thanks to the efforts of Arnold Krogh, who became its art director in 1855. [Series Details] Royal Copenhagen's first annual plate was in 1908. Since then, every plate has been produced every year without fail. Just like in 1908, they are crafted using the underglaze technique, which beautifully captures the shades of cobalt blue. Since the molds for annual plates are destroyed once production ends for that year, the same plates cannot be produced the following year. The only plates currently in existence are those released during the same year of production. [ROYAL COPENHAGEN Year Plate 2006 Edition] "Kronborg Castle" This plate depicts Kronborg Castle, now a World Heritage Site. Kronborg Castle is also famous as the setting for Shakespeare's masterpiece, "Hamlet." The swan flying in the foreground is also Denmark's national bird. It depicts the beautiful scene of Denmark in winter, enveloped in a deep silence where even sound seems frozen. ■Country of Origin: Denmark ■Material: Porcelain ■It is an antique piece fired in that year. ■No brand box. ■Each piece will have a different color.
