Amazon Review
The "ANIMEX 1200" series packs nostalgic anime theme songs and background music into the attractive price of ¥1,200 (excluding tax). This is a remastered version of the original soundtrack from the 1981 animated feature film "Galaxy Express 999: Andromeda Terminus," based on the original work by Leiji Matsumoto.
The music was composed by Osamu Tokai, who would go on to work on numerous anime-related projects after this film, replacing Nozomi Aoki, who had worked on the TV and first feature films. In addition to the orchestral sound with clear melodies that follows the first film, the album also features bold use of synthesizers, which were cutting-edge at the time, giving it a contemporary feel. The full insert song by Mary McGregor is also included. (Gokichi Wakasunya)
